Towards a future of technology that nourishes us, rather than drains us

In a world deeply shaped by powerful technologies, STRP invites you to Soft, Slow and Powerful, a three-day event from 26-28 March in which we explore the alternative relationships with technology. Featuring a small-scale exhibition, a performance night , workshops, and a context programme. With the works of (Atelier-E), Nemo Vos, Ecaterina Grigorieva, Gjorgji Despodov, , Sara Ballout, Theresa Reiwer, and Zeno van den Broek.

In a time when powerful technologies—both literally and figuratively—drain our energy, exploit our creativity and make us feel isolated, an analogue future can sometimes seem like the only path towards a healthy one.

Many of us feel exhausted, overstimulated or disconnected by the technologies we rely on every day. This tension has sparked visible cultural shifts: the return to dumbphones, the romanticisation of the 1990s and early 2000s, and movements that advocate for smartphone-free living. The desire for distance from technology is widespread. Yet opting out entirely often proves difficult. Our social lives, creative practices and communities are deeply intertwined with digital platforms, making withdrawal feel both tempting and impossible.

What if power did not have to mean isolation, dominance, or extraction? Soft, Slow & Powerful explores softness and slowness as sources of strength, reimagining technology as an ally that restores energy, fosters connection and supports collective presence. This approach draws on the thinking of Ursula K. Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory, which proposes that humanity’s earliest tools were not weapons but containers. Objects made to carry, gather and share.

About the Performance Night STRP x Max Frimout In the second performance night, co-created by Max Frimout, a slow pulse lets softness, slowness, and power emerge through shared presence and connection. Led by Max Frimout and a multidisciplinary group of artists conformed by João Brito, Farah Hijazi, Nikita Berezko, and Giulia del Gobbo Visitors become part of a shifting sound installation, where rhythm and collective response shape the space. The audience subtly guides its flow, creating moments of re-synchronization rather than chaos.

Join us at Soft, Slow and Powerful for an intimate art experience that invites you to take part in imagining softer, more resilient futures.
